Grand Prix Software Setup

This shows how to set up the Grand Prix Race Manager software for use with the timer. This section is for version 6 or later of the Grand Prix software.

It is very important that you correctly set the number of lanes in the software, or after each race it will stop and wait for finish results for non-existant lanes that will never be sent by the timer. This setting is on the software setup panel:
gprm6_menu_bar_software (36K)
GPRM6_Lanes_marked (82K)
Set this to the same number of lanes your timer hardware is configured to use.

Hardware Configuration

gprm6_menu_bar_hardware (36K)
Go to the hardware setup page. Select Other Serial Timer in the Serial Timer section.
GPRM6_HardwareSetup_TimerPanel_marked (77K)
Be sure you set the COM port correctly, or the software will not be able to communicate with the timer.

Click the Custom Setup button in the Serial Timer section to get to the following panel.
Enter the exact settings as shown below to configure Grand Prix Race Manager for the DerbyTimer.
Grand Prix Race Manager 6 - Hardware Setup
Be sure to leave Retrieve Data empty. It should not be set for my timer.
That option is only to be used for timers that can't automatically report the data as the race progresses, and will cause problems for those that send data in real time as each lane finishes, like mine. Fields that are shown blank, must be empty. Be sure to clear them if they have been set.
