DerbyTimer.Com

It is my goal to provide a high quality pinewood derby timer that any Cub Scout Pack, Awana Club, or other group that has Pinewood Derby type racing, can afford.

To achieve the goal of affordability, I offer my timers in kit form.

There are various kits available, in various stages of completion, from bare circuit boards, to sets of all parts, to completely finished electronics, ready to install.

Almost any group can find a parent or volunteer who can build an enclosure and install the preassembled timer.
Some groups also have someone capable of building the electronics as well.
It is my goal to offer a match for each situation.

It is currently not my goal to provide complete track finish line structures. Most groups prefer to build their own, and there are already plenty of companies offering complete finished timers if you want to pay the higher cost of a custom pre-assembled unit.

The timer is an advanced design based on a picmicro microcontroller/microprocessor. When equipped with the display option, it can be used without needing a computer. With or without the displays, it can be plugged into a computer and can report race results in real time to race management software, allowing a fully computerized race that operates very smoothly. The timer is tested and supported with the excellent Grand Prix Race Manager software package. If you prefer to write your own software, all the information necessary is freely available here on the web site.

Please note: I cannot routinely handle rush orders. Please allow at least two weeks delivery time on all orders. If you need your timer sooner, please contact me directly, before ordering, to insure delivery by your deadline is possible. Rush orders may require an extra charge.
